About

Los Angeles hardcore.

Fast, furious, sharply self-aware music with youthful volatility, serious songwriting chops and absolutely no interest in waiting their turn.

XCOMM, all five band members, Los Angeles 2026

Formed in 2023, XCOMM are frontman Michael Gatto, bassist Adan Escoto, guitarist Eric Matt, DJ Hunter Grogan and drummer Revel Ian. The name is short for Excommunicate: a fitting banner for a band built on speed, volume, humour and the frustration of being young and underestimated.

Their debut album, Time To Burn, is out now on Blowed Out Records, the label and incubator founded by Ross Robinson, Ghostemane and Bill Armstrong. Produced by Robinson, whose work with Korn, Slipknot, Glassjaw, At The Drive-In and The Cure helped shape modern heavy music, it captures the band at full charge.

“XCOMM is the wild zone. This is the sound of unfiltered youth.”

Ross Robinson

Across eleven tracks, frustration, boredom, impulse and absurdity become short, sharp shocks of hardcore. “Fake ID” turns being turned away from age-restricted shows into a snotty anthem. “Borrowed Happiness” features in Jackass: Best and Last. “Pirates” brings in Ghostemane for one of the record’s most vicious cuts.

“XCOMM is aggressive music for impressionable minds.”

Michael Gatto

They’ve been profiled by the Los Angeles Times, named in the NME 100 of 2026, and covered by Revolver, VICE, Kerrang!, Alternative Press, Rolling Stone, Metal Injection, Knotfest and idobi. Early supporters include Mike Patton, Dave Grohl, Brann Dailor, Phil Anselmo, Jerry Cantrell, Jack Black, Keanu Reeves, Skrillex, Duff McKagan, Tony Hawk and Fletcher Dragge.
